Give

Last updated Thursday, 5th Nov 2015

Giving to others can be rewarding – and make you feel good. Simple acts such as helping out a friend or neighbour, making someone a cake or giving someone the time to talk about their worries really do make a difference.

‘When I started volunteering, I felt nervous – but I was made to feel really welcome. After a bit I realised that I did have something to offer – and it was great knowing I had made a difference. Now I feel part of the team and really look forward to going along to help.’

Volunteering can be a fulfilling and worthwhile experience; you get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent and it's a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and gain useful experience. It should also be fun!

The range of opportunities is huge. Whatever skills and experience you have, there is something that you can do. In Kent, volunteer centres can help you find the volunteering role that is right for you.

Medway Libraries

Medway libraries welcome volunteers to assist with many of the services they offer. They offer opportunities for volunteer drivers for the home library service and for friends of the library service, who help out at library events, take books to people who are housebound and support readers' group. This page will give you more information where you can help and will assist you in applying to become a volunteer

The Medway Voice is a free membership-led organisation open to community and voluntary sectors in Medway. It provides an opportunity to develop networks throughout the sector and gives people an opportunity to be more effective
